Job Description | ■Team's mission Our organization's mission is to connect next-generation technologies to business, from the discovery to practical application of new technologies. In particular, we promote development in the field of silicon photonics, developing optical circuits (called photonic integrated circuits (PICs)) that use silicon to construct waveguides and optical functional components. We also develop electrical integrated circuits (EICs) that control PICs. Applications include FMCW LiDAR and optical communications, and we are developing related systems. In development, we collaborate with universities and external companies to promote the rapid commercialization of new technologies. ■Expected Roles - Device Engineer: Laser chip/silicon photonics substrate bonding, silicon photonics development for efficiency improvement, new structure planning, device structure design, mask creation, and device fabrication on our in-house production line. - PIC Design and Evaluation Engineer: Design prototype PICs and evaluate their functions and characteristics. - EIC Development Engineer: Development related to EICs from design to evaluation, and communication with fabs. - System Development: System development for proof-of-principle testing. In addition, there will be opportunities for business trips, including academic presentations and interactions with overseas and production sites. ■Possible positions - Leader, Block Leader Lead the overall silicon photonics development. Lead each block, including device design and evaluation. Lead external collaborations (universities, other companies, other fabs). - Person in Charge Responsible for the actual operations of device engineers. Responsible for semiconductor device design, simulation, and performance evaluation. Develop new devices and address issues with existing devices, improving them, and maximizing their performance. |
Requirement | ■Required One or more of the following: - PIC design experience - Development experience using an optical simulator - PIC evaluation experience - Semiconductor device development experience - Analog circuit design, logic design, or board development experience - Ability to read English papers and comfortable with English ■Preferred - Experience researching/developing actual Si Photonics devices - Project lead experience - Experience considering system requirements using PICs |
