| Company | An AMR startup founded by a former automotive AD tech lead. Owns products such as autonomous transport robot that can switch between AGV mode on trajectory and autonomous mode without pre-defined trajectory, general purpose towing solution for 3rd party trolleys, and fleet management system. Their strength lie in their extensive know-how in the logistics field, based on close collaboration with many logistics warehouse operators, and in the creation of products, both hardware and software developed in-house from scratch. - Established: March 2020 - Workforces: about 50 ppl - Capital: JPY 100M |
| Job Description | You will be one of the engineers responsible for the electrical and electronic circuit design within LexxPluss products, handling everything from requirements capture to mass-production documentation. Your primary focus will be the development of custom PCBs and wire harnesses that interface with sensors, motors, and control systems. Key Responsibilities - Circuit and PCB Development: Design, prototype, review, and test custom circuit boards (PCBA) for sensor interfacing, power distribution, and signal processing. You will take ownership of the board layout, component selection, and hardware debugging. - Harness design: Design and evaluate robust wire harnesses that bridge custom PCBs with other electronic modules, ensuring reliable communication across the entire robotic system. - Operational considerations: Select and validate electronic components by considering the operational environment from thermal, noise, and vibration standpoints, ensuring part reliability. - Regulatory & Safety Compliance: Implement hardware-level designs that meet international safety standards (for example, ISO 3691-4, ISO 26262, UL) and domestic legal requirements (Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Act, Radio Law). - Technical Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, QA/QC engineers and manufacturing teams, to deliver integrated robotic solutions. - Documentation: Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings, gerber data, specifications, and reports to support the design and manufacturing process. - Hardware Procurement: Deal with manufactures both in Japan and abroad for procurement of PCBs, harness assemblies, and other parts. - Prototyping & Defect Analysis: Perform iterative prototyping and conduct root-cause analysis on hardware failures, planning and executing design improvements for mass production. - Field & Supplier Support: Occasional travel to customer sites for hardware failure investigations, deployment support, or supplier meetings. |
| Requirement | [ Required Qualifications ] - Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related technical field. - Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional experience in electronics development. - Technical Skills: We expect successful applicants to have experience in: -- Circuit & PCB Design: Circuit and PCB design, and electronic system development. -- Wire Harness Design: Design and evaluate wire harnesses (cable assemblies), including knowledge of connector types and wiring auxiliary materials. -- Component Selection: Select motors, sensors, and other devices, based on technical specifications, rated performance, and interoperability. -- Design Review: Review schematics, PCB layout, and diagrams, understanding signal types, current requirements, and best practices for noise countermeasures. -- Electronics Testing: Safely operate oscilloscopes, current probes, power supplies, and other instruments for hardware debugging and evaluation. -- Engineering Calculations: Calculate thermal performance and other metrics to select optimally-rated parts. -- Problem-solving: Identify, diagnose, and perform root-cause analysis of technical issues arising from electrical components, circuit boards, or harnesses. - Communication: Business level in either English or Japanese (conversational level English in case of the latter). [ Preferred Qualifications ] - Electronics Design Tools: Experience with Altium Designer - Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with safety standards (ISO 3691-4/ISO 26262, UL) and legal requirements (Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Act, Radio Law). - Core Electronics & Power Design: experience designing power supply (DC/DC converters, POL, LDO), micro-controller, and analog circuits. - Sensor & Interface Integration: Proven experience designing connection circuits for sensors using various interfaces, including SPI, I2C, and differential signals. - Specialized Power & Motors: Knowledge and experience with brushless DC (BLDC) motors, and products equipped with Lithium-ion batteries. - Design Optimization: Practical application of EMI/EMC regulations, noise reduction techniques, thermal management (heat countermeasures), and ESD protection. - Simulation & Analysis: Proficiency in circuit simulators (LTspice, PSpice, etc.) to validate designs before prototyping. - Manufacturing Lifecycle: Experience managing the end-to-end process from initial design and prototyping to mass production and problem-solving. - Firmware Familiarity: Basic experience with microcontroller programming to support hardware-software integration. - Language: Business-level proficiency in both English and Japanese. - Cultural Fit: Individuals who genuinely like autonomously moving robots and those who have participated in robot contests, coding challenges, or similar competitive events. |
